Engine Guards and Coolant Bottle Relocation

Dracul, check out his pics. Skip's built an awesome 3 ft sissy bar, complete with what appear to be hood ornament rockets. I think it looks great!

Personally, I believe he came up with an elegant solution. Perfectly hidden location, ideal material, little to no cost answer.

Checked 'em out. Iconoclastic I'll give 'im that. Takes guts to festoon a bike with such spare parts from the neighborhood junkyard...er...foundry. Certainly would get ya plenty of grins I suppose. Hell, I'm used to people thinking I'm pretty **** tangential myself. I like nut cases!:D

Can you imagine having an accident and rolling around on the ground with that 900lb dagger?
And I catch hell for not wearing a helmet .... lol

The horn cover that looks like the bottom of a clothes iron is another unique feature.
Skips bike is an ever changing piece of folk art, can't wait to see it up close.

That horn cover derives from a Victory bike! If he welds on much more tonnage he'll need a second motor to cart it all around!:D

Yankee ingenuity is an American English reference to the self-reliance of early colonial settlers of New England, United States. It describes an attitude of make-do with materials on hand. It is inventive improvisation, adaptation and overcoming of dire straits when faced with a dearth of materials.

Skip, I've just made you an honorary Yankee.:D

Down in South, they call it 'Redneck Engineering'....

TD,
What the diameter of the guards?

I bet that Kuryakyn would have some chromed clamps that might work...
P-Clamps | Küryakyn

They are the Triumph guards (new model) which I'm hoping are 1-1/4". At least that's what I've read.

The previous owner of the guards had painted them black so I'm wanting to get the rubber/vinyl cushions p-clamps so as to not scratch the paint.

The Kury clamps are nice but at $26 or more, that's too much. I found some Drag Specialties clamps that are similar at Dennis Kirk for $7.95.

If the cushioned p-clamps don't work, then I'll go with the Drags.
