I beg to disagree...same 'ol bikes, great paint but performance...not in the same league with most other bikes that are 1600cc and up. Just because out of their entire line up they engineered three to have water cooled heads( and the word is "not" out yet as to how well they perform) does not a great roster make. I did think they did a good job on re-doing the stereo but I haven't heard it out on the road yet so the jury is still out on that as well. With the rumble that they (typical Harley rider) live and die for the new stereo may not be that much better than the old one (I haven't heard it yet)...my advice is to buy helmets with a Harley adaptable headset in them and you can enjoy the music or coms a little better.
My two cents...your opinion may vary.

I really don't think the majority of folks buying Harleys even consider power. If its faster than most cars, its fast enough for them. The exception seems to be Harley riders who own or have owned other marques. Unfortunately, most I encounter have only owned Harleys.

It's sort of different around here ,a lot of "older " born again bikers are people who had smaller bikes in their youth and have lusted after the Harley personification of the bad boy image and are cashed up enough to buy their "dream Machine" I have nothing against this as a reward for a long hard slog bringing up kids ect ,what I don't like is the attitude a lot of these guys have toward other marques of Bikes ,when I had my old Shovel Harley on the road in the 80s and 90s these same guys I grew up with were riding small jap bikes and rubbishing Harleys and British bikes, now it's The Hog or it's a Dog tee shirt brigade ,I take great pleasure when I run into them at a Hog owners Run and mention their previous Ride loud enough for their mates to hear, Exit stage left!

The roadster can be fitted for any solo touring any of us want, If i'm going to get my better half to go riding with me she wants to be comfortable. look at the back 1/2 of a harley touring, its a lazy boy complete with armrests, cup holder, cigarette lighter, and volume control for the stereo with enough storage for two! Triumph doesn't make a two up touring. I can't be the only 1 here with someone looking over my shoulder when i'm looking to upgrade and the current R3t is still just a 1/2 hearted attempt at touring.

FWIW, a nationally prominent Triumph dealer in the US told me that they had been given the go ahead to pre-order R3Ts for 2015.
Maybe they'll fill orders from existing stock, or maybe they'll set the production line to running again.
I picked up a 2014 ABS the other day, making this my 3rd R3T. Not sure what I would ever replace it with if they stop making/selling them.

I find the R3T OK for touring my wife has been my companion pillion for the last 38 years on many long trips to Perth and back 8000k, and over most of Australia's round trip on a much smaller bikes than a R3T 650 Triumph Saint, Harley Super Glide shovel ect ect ,I don't know much about the back of those Harleys with the lounge chair and coffee table with surround sound system as I don't stay behind them for long as they wobble around the slightest bend and huff and puff on any steep inclines two up but they can check out my 1/2 hearted tourer's rear as I disappear into the distance , and that is coming from a reformed Harleyophile.
