Anyone know if the ignition switch is repairable/replacable without removing structural parts of bike? I burned mine last Thursday. Not a smell you want at 6:30 in the morning trying to leave for work. Also, anyone know cost of repair/replace? It's a 2008. I've seen references to the recall, but don't know how to check further.
I'd say chances are you'll have to disassemble a fair amount to get at it. Otherwise any thief could also just reach in there and bypass it as well. Never dug that deep into the front end but maybe someone else can chime in with specifics.

First photo in post #9 shows the ign switch mounted to the top of the triple clamp, at my left thumb is one of the two security bolts that will need to be tapped out or in my case drilled out.
