Ecu mapping and flat battery

Good day Brainstrust,

My 07 classic, which I've only had for a month or so, had to be jumped recently after a flat battery and is now running like bag of S#%$!

It's had the 3 K&Ns fitted with no module but looks like a TUNEECU map done and it feels like its running as if the air filters were slapped on and not tuned to suit.

Is it possible the flat battery wiped the tuneecu mapping? It seems unlikely but it can't just be a coincidence.

I've got tuneecu but can't connect till I get an adapter(I live in rural Australia). Also, feul/ Oil have all been updated as it had been sitting for about 4 years and was running beautifully for the 500 kms I've put on it.

Any thoughts would be most appreciated in the meantime.

Yeah same, and even if it did, shouldn't it just relearn anyway?

I've done the 12 Min cold tune and will pull the plugs to have a look till I can pull any codes up.

The ecu will not wipe the map settings when disconnected.
In general they will reset spec's to new condition and will take about 20 minutes to adjust to the bikes condition and sometimes run for **** for a little while.
You may have damage to the vacuum hoses that will cause a lean condition.
New gas will cut the crude out and plug the filter causing it to run out of gas in high rpm.
Running like **** covers a lot of problems so you are going to have to spell out what it is doing.

Just my opinion
The 12 minute tune is just for idle and does nothing for running.
Sometimes these tunes are to rich and cause the spark plugs to foul.
This may come as a shock but you can have the same number map but if you have three different runners working on the same map number then you have three different maps with the same number.
Even after you tell us about the running you may receive a dozen different fixes

After sitting 4 years and then running good for 500km then crapola, i would get in the tank, check lines(replace) and fuel filter,, then i would check fuel pressure. All good, put on tune ecu, and i would check sensors and settings , then once tps and stepper are right i would try to start and check throttle body balances, while trying to warm up, balance bodies,( tubes same length) then youd be close. If any of those things are off its all guesses. Clean and check fuel system while waiting on plug, these lines and filters and pumps get jacked up in these tanks. Good luck, these are just a few things to address wirh known answers or youll just be doing a crapshoot. Different country please forgive for anything that sounds smartassee or rude. Hey again Woodsy, you say you live in rural Australia, could it be possible you picked up some crappy fuel on your last fill up? I'd be checking the filters & looking at doing a flush. Gotta remember crud could have gotten right to the injectors if it was bad fuel. Wasn't diesel was it? LOL!

I would also "Load Test" the Battery. These Bikes NEED a health Battery.

A Battery Voltage < 12.7 will cause possible multi-system malfunction(s) and can throw codes and warning lights.

What's the Battery Voltage reading when;

1) With the key "Off" and the Bike parked;
1) You initially turn the key on;
2) When the Bike has started and is running at an Idle?

Cheers Kev, I reckon yr on the money here, felt like it's either starving when I gave it a bit or plugs were gunked up... bit to get my head around there but ill give it a crack....
