Eastern Rally July 2026

There are so many squiggles on that map, I think I got over excited and wet myself
There is great riding central to Wythville area. I run a form of that Palaski Narrows loop. Of course Back of Draggon AMS one other that is for advanced riders with nerves and good bike control. It’s worse than Devil’s Triangle for unguarded drop offs and very narrow but with fair asphalt. I’ll check on that or the road a previous poster mentioned.

Huntington WV? That is a fer piece from Wythville.

I have trucked many of these SW Virginia back roads. Even in an 18 wheeler they are fun.
Lol, I wonder if it was you, Guzzi Dan and I followed a bobtail semi through the mountains in WV, I'm telling you, I've never seen anything like it, we were on bikes, it was all we could do to keep him in sight, I've never seen anything like it. And his wheels never touched a line. Words fail me, you would have had to see it, we still talk about the guy, whoever he was. Hero level-10

You just can’t ride all the good roads up there unless you stayed for a month.😛
This is the reason that I like a tour vs. a single home base. To make a nice route hitting as many good Twisties as possible on the way vs. trying to find a local to ride out and back from for several days...one is a vacation and the other is an adventure.

For four days of rides, you could go the 4 different directions each day. Wytheville 2017 was my first rally ever. Frozen in time...

Hey @Dr.D are you talking about Back of the Dragon? I wasn't sure about the "AMS" part (maybe a senior moment on my part). Back of the Dragon is in pretty good shape last time I was there, within the past eight weeks, and The Snake road quality is excellent!

As always, as you well know, in our entire expanded area you have to watch for occasional gravel in some of the turns, but you can maintain full speed if you can hold a good line. Those two above are probably my two favorite rides.

Devils Triangle, you mentioned, is more of a challenge due to road conditions and that "I hear banjos" vibe after departing the prison :), but when I'm feeling "IT" I love to do that ride- for others, btw, this one is not in the area that we're discussing now.

We both know that these routes and others in this area are far better than Tail of the Dragon, which is waaaay overrated and plagued by incompetent riders (and drivers) and law enforcement- not that we ever would think of even bending any rules.

I have a lot of family matters going on now, but if I could join you all this would be not only fairly close, but I think an excellent choice for high quality rides. Just my two cents....
