Couple of questions:... 1: Does a 2012 roadster NEED to have this relay installed? Or are 12's pretty safe from the ignition problem? Wasn't there some kind of update Triumph did to handle this...

2: If a tech look in my bike and notices that the headlights and stuff are all wired differently, does this pose a warranty issue? My dealer doesn't seem to be aware of half the stuff we talk about on here so not sure if seeing this harness will make things more difficult for me when bringing it in for service....

Triumphs update as mentioned in other threads is only a bandaid solution it takes the load of the ignition switch and puts it all on the hi/low dipper switch which again gives you a vulnerable point of resistance where arc of the high currant can damage the switch and dull or make the lights fail, the EB or a home made harness will also give brighter lights as there is only 1 switching point (the 30amp relay) between the battery and lights power, as to warranty I don't know but generally most dealers (if they are are reasonable) will take the attitude that if a modification does not cause or can be associated with the warranty problem they will be happy, other than that check with him and see what he says

Trying to find my electrical gremlin, I replaced the one on my 06 with one that has a switched headlight. I'll send it to you. PM me your address.

My 2010 roadster had the upgrade done, then if did the EB relay upgrade and the headlights have got a whole lot brighter.

I still have the kit I bought from @rainman for my Touring I never put on, I wonder if I should put it on my Roadster before leaving for Montrose......

Isnt theone for the roadster different from the one from the touring? Roadster has a 2 headlight system?

Most of us are not sure of whether triumph has eliminated the Ignition Switch issues in 2012 Roadster & up?? Richocet, it will be really appreciable if you can confirm from your dealer?

Anyway i got the EB kit and Horn wiring, jus waiting for my 20ah Battery & 600 mile maintenance to do everything together!!

There is your answer Triumph took the easy way out and while it will save the ign it transfers the load and voltage loss associated with it to the hi/low beam dip switch which will no doubt in time degenerate from the arcing of the high current, have a look inside your switch gear it is only very lightly made
As Mittzy has shown and I have been saying all along for what seems like the millionth timer he EB solution or a homemade version will give you the brighter lights and a system that is not under excessive load
