Dropped Tire Pressure to Improve Ride

Tire pressures would also be influenced by rider weight, correct? A 50kg (110lb) bean stalk is going to get away with lower tire pressures over a 150kg (330lb) bear.

Yeah...a bit, but I recon with a heavy bike like this, it will be pretty negligible.
Then again...throw in a heavy pillion and some luggage and it's going to affect the rear, but not so much the front end.

I have a system
I pump them to 38 then in about a month they are down to about 33 and then I take them back to 38
Did not like 30 it felt a little weird.

My tires hold the pressure well, probably losing only a half of PSI a month.

Generally, you get PSI sudden changes with weather temps. But where I am, it stays more or less stable, temp wise, well, also giving a whole year riding weather.

I have to confess, that as I know my tyres hold air very well, I tend to only put a gauge on them at the start of the season.
I know that doesn't sound very sensible, to leave it that long. Reckless even, but I always do my visual checks and when i'm riding I can notice pretty quickly if the tyres characteristics have changed.
It's not something I would promote others to do, however.

Lol! Yes, likely a common thing many of us are guilty of, but shameful. I'm getting the Triumph TPMS sensors installed when I replace my tires, so I won't feel as guilty. 😉

I wouldn't trust the pressures they show, though they are handy for letting you when you've got a leak. They came factory fitted on my KTM. They were alright when they worked but they often played up and when the batteries go (which can't be replaced - you need to buy new sensors) they throw a permanent error code. I had mine deleted in the end.
Also, if you have them don't use that liquid anti-puncture tyre seal stuff as it wrecks the sensors.

This is how I track my pressure with FOBO bluetooth sensors. They have 2 versions, with and without a temperature sensor. So, if you shop, make sure you compare the right models price wise. I have gotten mine from Amazon.

My use is to take a phone out and read all my bikes pressures, since the app scans all sensors, and my bikes are parked near each other. So, one single source of all my bikes pressures. I also have a bluetooth gizmo for my battery on every bike (a different product whatsoever from a different company), so, I read with another app the main's battery history of voltages. So, this is my routine like once a week, every day things don't change, unless there is a temperature dip. If you run the app all the time, you can get warnings of low pressures, I don't. I think if there would be a blow out, you'd know, if there would be a slow but steady leak, I'd see it in my checks or would feel through the bike handling.

I think the sensors for this price are good - sensitive, as the fractional part of the reading does go down logically, so I assume that the sensor can read the pressure to the fractional part fairly accurately.

I change the batteries for each sensor about once a year, maybe year and a half. The app shows you the battery status.

It is an inconvenience to take off the sensor to add air, yeah. Some people have installed (for other bike models) a T, where the sensor is attached to one side and air can be added to another side. But it requires taking off the tire, and some air nozzle assemblies are very specific to the rim, basically, you can't get a T for said rims. After taking off the sensor to add air a number of times, I think I can do it nowadays without much thought put into it.
