06 R3 Std
Here's the deal. I acquired an R3 std from an estate. It has a Power Commander installed but I don't have access to any of the software. It came with Jars and an underseat K&N.

Here's what I am trying to do...

I have in hand a Tuneboy, 3 pods, and Nev cams are arriving soon.

Problem:

What do I do about the Power commander? Does it need to be removed before progressing with the Tuneboy? What is involved? I understand with the Tuneboy the PC isn't needed? What would be step 1?

I'd like to get all the work done before Maggie Valley so I can stay up (at least closer) with the "big boys"

You can download PC3 software from DynoJet. The latest version has accelerator pump for R3 PC3USB. It's much easier and faster to dyno tune with the PC3, unless your tuner has TuneBoy experience. Even if you don't use the PC3, download the software so you can "look inside" to see what fuel trim has been put in so far. If you decide to not use PC3 and tune with only TuneBoy, you can zero out the PC3 and leave it in place with no problems. Or tune with PC3 and load fuel trim via TuneBoy (then zero out PC3).

What I would do is install all of the goodies. Take it to a PCIII dyno tuner, load a tuneboy tune with the correct timing for the cams then have them dyno tune it with the PCIII. Remove the PCIII, import the PCIII map into tuneboy, load that tune and you're done.

I have the exact same set up and so does Toystoretom, and we found that the K&N's likely aren't going to flow enough to get what we should be getting out of it.

OR,
you could be like me and just run close to tail gunner.
I rode there last year and loved it, truely an awsome sight watching 20 or so Rockets ahead of you.
Ya know, as I think back on it, the worse thing about that whole trip was watching you guys turn right towards Kansas, and me turning left.
Man, I felt so alone all of a sudden.
Can't wait to see y'all and get my Rocket fix again..
