The local Harley dealer is now selling Big Dogs. The reps were there with their bigass semi, and they were offering demo rides.

I think I kind of insulted the reps when I asked them if there are any engines larger than the 117s. So yeah, I was informed that there aren't. And no, they don't have turbocharged or supercharged models either!

I did not ride one and instead enjoyed a nice cruise on that little 140".

Did I miss out on a nice ride? Are they fast?

Honestly, I just thought that after blipping it a few times, any of those bikes would have bored me after a few minutes. Am I wrong?

Nope I don't think you missed out on nothin'. One of the guys at work has a beautiful chopper by Big Dog. Cost? Glad you asked. $30,000.00. He's a good guy, so the one time we went rideing, I didn't leave him to far behind. and tried not to embarass him to much. I could run off and leave him at will and had to show him a time or two. We cruised at 85, and I think thats about all he had.
He looked real uncomfortable. But it sure was pretty. xhdskip

They ride like any other custom with a big fatty on the back. They actually are pretty quick out of the hole. A friend of mine has one, he can hang within a bike length of me in first and second, after that no contest.

The Triumph dealer here in Hattiesburg MS also carries Big Dog. It amazes me when people of all ages walk in, right past the R3s, to look at bikes which are twice the cost at half the utility (or less). I can see people wanting their 'Porsche' equivalent on two wheels, but these bikes are for looks only. By the time you ride across town your arse has gotta be sore as hell. I'm saying all this without having ridden one, just can't believe they walk past the R3s! It takes all kinds, glad I'm a Triumph guy!

One of my co-workers has a Big Dog Boxer. It is very pretty, but he hardly ever rides it because it breaks down on a VERY regular schedule. He got it used for 12k, [I think it is an 04] but he has spent a small fortune on it since.
It is pretty quick, for what it is. I saw him give a V-Rod all it wanted, then I walked off and left them both.
