Lemon Pledge on the aluminum wheels?!? C'mon! You guys are pulling my leg, right? I've read through multiple 'Allegiance of Pledge' posts (see what I did there?), and I don't recall anyone saying anything about putting it on the rims.

I guess I'd be willing to try it since it's mild enough. Either way, if you see this post, please specify if that is indeed what you meant. I.e. putting Pledge on the rims...

Thank you.
Spray everything even your windscreen and sides of the tires and your wheels it keeps them from corroding and yes spray the engine and frame and even your license plate and your helmet and shield and you can spray your leather jacket and leather boots it works great on your cars wheels and tires and anything else you want to look clean and shiny

Do not piss off the pledge followers, They will place a curse on you and in the morning you will wake up with lemons in every orifice of your body.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: I like blue magic on aluminum and turtle wax the rest. . ;););););)

You make having lemons stuffed into my orifices sound like a BAD thing... :sneaky:

I might have to disagree about the tires. I actually did use Pledge on my sidewalls, but it didn't look very good later on and certainly not the next day. I'll probably just stick to using Wesley's (sp?). I prefer the look of clean, black rubber over the shiney look anyway.

It has been determined that Pledge has large amounts of silicone in it. Some people like professional painters cringe at the word "silicone".

I wash my bike and keep it clean but to go as far as "everytime I get done riding I wipe it down with a damp paper towel"... nah that's not going to happen. When I get done riding my bike I want to get away from it because my a$$ is so sore from riding all those miles.

You are absolutely correct about the silicone. If you ever plan on repainting your bike (or anything) later on, DO NOT EVER PUT ANYTHING ON IT THAT HAS SILICONE!!!! the panels will have to be completely stripped down to the metal & then the metal will still need to be treated to get rid of the silicone. If not, everything that gets fresh paint will "fish eye" like crazy & then have spontaneous combustion    - There are products out there that are "supposed" to remove any of the waxes, greases, ect but silicone sometimes morphs into cancer & almost impossible to contain
From their website one of the ingredients is silica:
Silica is a thickener that can also be found in a wide variety of cosmetics and personal care products. It is also called "silicon dioxide." In our products, we use silica to help a product maintain a
gel-like texture
If you're not ever going to repaint then go ahead & use it. But if you think there is any possibility that at some point you may want to repaint.................. RUN from Pledge!!!!

I would think twice about using anything slick even on the side of tires.:thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

Well, brother - I paint - have had it happen, know many others that have had it happen. If that's the case for you, Great :D
You've been fortunate then.
People assume that anything that has clear coat on it is protected by some magic shield - It's not - all paint, including the clear coat is not solid like glass, it is porous so products WILL build up & embed deep into the paint/clear coat. PERIOD
I'll make a deal with you Sir: I won't tell you how to build a racing engine, as that is your area of expertise. won't argue with you on anything along that subject. So please don't argue with me about the paint category.
Thank you in advance
RESPECTFULLY.................. :)
