Hey all, Im a new owner and new here. I just replaced my stock pipes with D and D slipons and a KN air filter. I noticed on first ride that the headers were glowing orange with alot of pops ect on decel. I figured it was lean, and took it to get a fatter fuel map installed into the tuneboy. They put the one in there that is for the CAT removed, they said it would be fine. WRONG! It still glows orange, so I just gave up and ordered a PC USB. Now that I have that, i still cant find a map thats exactly for my setup. Any leads?? Any help is appreciated!

Welcome to the insanity by the way pwrjunkie.

I just installed TORS yesterday after running with just Cat Bypass and stock pipes.
I noticed one map for a Vance & Hines setup. I would suggest you try that one until you can get your bike dyno'd or someone has dyno'd with your setup and is willing to share.

I'll be in sturgis and plan to get bike dyno'd anyways. It seems tweeking is what we bikers like to do.

Cheers

Return the power commander unless you plan on getting dyno tuned by a trained PC tuner.

Use the tuneboy to add a little fuel at idle.

I can't imagine that manifold glowing please post pics...

Stop wasting money

Or send it to me, and I'll set you straight

Mine also glows a little where the three pipes coming from the motor meet up. I'm running completly stock setup. When the bike was new it really glowed big time but now I can hardly see it any more, have 9k miles on the bike. My bike ran hot when it was new but cooled down after break in.

If youre still running tuneboy I can email you the map I am using with my D&D's. No other mods - stock air filter. Cant say I have seen any glowing hot exhaust parts
Its a full power tune with some fuel added at lower levels to reduce popping on decel.
PM for more info.

I had a custom mapping done by a Dynojet certified specialist. I have D&D pipes and K&N air filter.

Only problem I have, is that my laptop died a couple weeks ago, so I can't get the map pulled out for ya.

So yeah... I guess I'm pretty worthless. 8)

Guys I really appreciate it! Gives me some insight. I guess Im not the only one with glowing pipes. Strange that some do it and some dont. Does anyone think it would really harm the bike? I mean, it runs great, but Im garaging it until I know fer sure, and its killing me! Zilla, if you can get that map somehow It would really help. I know you can pull the map off the bike via another computer. Do you need some monetary motivation :D . Please let me know.

Sorry, let me clarify. I had gotten the ECU remapped, I never had a tuneboy. And I have A PC USB on the way. I know I know some say its a waste of money. But this is my first Triumph and I am used to PC's, what can I say.

Few maps in here:

I hope I can set your mind at ease. I got D&Ds and a K&N also. Mine have been glowing a bright orange for over 2 years 30,000 some odd miles. Threw it on a Dyno they said it was running fat. That was before Tuneboy. Been messing around with different tunes. Some glow less than others . Still looking for one that keeps a good idle and runs smooth at 50 mph in top gear with out sputtering.
