Been looking at the breakaway cruise control via internet, they don't have any agencies in UK nor do they export them, however they have given me a dealer in US that will send them over (cruisercustomizing). My question is which model is for the Rocket, it doesn't seem to be listed in their bike match, I'm sure that some of you guy's have them, how do you find it, it looks quite a good product on the video, but then it would do wouldn't it.

If you have the heated grips, BreakAway says they won't fit.
That's incorrect. They fit just fine.

I sure enjoy my throttlemeister throttle lock ... it works great and there aren't any external parts to get in the way or ruin the looks. I had a breakaway style lock on my Night Hawk S many years ago, I liked it but I remember that it wasn't very adjustable while riding. When I locked it in place, it was stuck there until released. The throttle meister friction lock is easy to adjust while you ride, both the throttle position as well as the amount of friction. The adjustment is by turning the bar end (vibration damper). You can dial in a little just to take the load off your wrist, or alot to lock the throttle. But either way you can still turn the throttle either on or off without totally unlocking the mechanism.

I have the BreakAway on my R3T. One thing of note, the levers are huge on the Rocket and interfere with the operation of the brake release. I didn't install that part of the unit and it seems to work just fine using the thumb switch only.

There's another product called the Vista Cruise. Same principle. Very inexpensive.
Black plastic. I've used it before and it works just as well.

I have the vista cruise on mine, I had to modify it because it doesn't work quite right on the Rocket handlebars. No big deal though. It works fine but I think I will install the audiovox.

I'd be interested to hear how you modified the VistaCruise for the R3. I've had one on other bikes, too (1500 Nomad) but I understand the Rocket throttle is too tough for the VC.

I am not at home so I can't see the bike but I think you just have to make an extended attach arm, the part that goes on the throttle works as for other bikes.
