is a 20/50 synthetic oil to heavy for the 70s-80s fall temperatures here in las vegas ? i wonder if the bike would be better off with 10w40 synthetic oil instead. its always parked inside (except at work) and i always let the bike warm up a bit before riding. the nights here drop temps pretty fast though, 50s-60s temperatures are common.

Actually, I know the engine to be quite large with not many tight areas needing lubrication, meaning the lack of need for a thinner oil to lubricate tight areas. Not many of us are going to out engineer the Triumph engineers. You live in an area simuliar to England temps. If you were living in an area that reach freezing, it may be another story. I remember living up in eastern Washington and it was a well know fact you had to change your oil for the winter because of the freezing temps.
