Riding back to my inland home from the beach two days ago the temp was 105 + at my house. Within a few miles of my home after traveling approximately 50 miles from the beach, where I am guesing temps were near 90, my engine was so hot I had to spread my legs (very un-lady-like) at a 90 degree angle away from the tank to prevent my cajones from becoming Rocky Mountain Oysters. ready for serving. This has never happened before. A couple questions: 1. Coolant type/brand recommendation? And 2: Is there a coolant temp gauge that would work on my '06 Classic? is there a radiator cap with a built in gauge or a handlebar gauge available, how hard to install? Thanks for your thoughts.
PS: what is the proper temp range for the coolant?
