Coolant Leak/Overflow?

Tell us more about this Evans coolant
Home » Engine Cooling Systems

Mr Leno does it better. I first saw this used on a TV program called "Wheeler Dealers" to stop old cars overheating. Here it's distributed by the Aviation industry.

IN THEORY as it does not expand you could do away with the coolant expansion (overflow) bottle all together.

Sure the coolant does not expand, But what about everything else? Radiator, Hoses etc would still expand with heat Maybe not enough to worry about????

when I put the chrome water pump cover on last year I was amazed at the amount of corroision in there!!! that is what interests me that and the higher boiling point
I also noticed they have a prep fluid to remove the last bit of water and coolant out of the system

I was searching around for info about Evans Waterless Coolant and some people (on the net) say it is just pure 100% propylene glycol
It has a higher boiling point than water but doesnt lose its heat as well,so your coolant fans tend to run more often.

They also recommend a prep fuid as hanso mentioned,it is suppose to absorb the last remaining traces of water from the system.
However,as propylene glycol also absorbs water me thinks the prep fuid is the same as the coolant they are selling you.

Im not saying dont buy it ,just do some research and make your mind up.

Yeah was planning on doing that not going to blow that sort of cash only to find out is no diff but in the video they said it did not contain glycol (which is Toxic) and they said it was not toxic, but as said I will check it out, we have in the bay only one radiator repair guy he is a very cluey Old bugger and wont put up with any bull so he will tell me straight

It seems I was wrong about it being 100% propylene glycol.According to this MSDS from the US ,it is a combo of ethylene glycol and propylene glycol with rust inhibitors

I sent off an email asking for a msds ,australian spec if possible. Ive seen a few debates on other motoring forums about Evans Coolant and the general consensus is that using it is 6 of one and half a dozen of the other when all the facts are out in the open.

Im using Toyota Red and the inside of my cooling system is as clean as the day I put it in there 2 years ago.

Whats the price of the Evans Coolant?
