If 'twere me - I'd fit a sender and an accurate gauge up where you can actually see it.

Maybe something like this but OIL not WATER?

Digital Speedos in the UK had one but no longer list it. But if you ask I am sure thay can help.

Would sit like this 3rd gauge.



I cannot remember if the ECU tracks Oil temp (my guess is yes) - but if so there is always this option. » ScanGauge II others have fitted and used them in the past. Just plug into OBD port.

Check with @DEcosse first. I'm pretty sure a continuous hook up into the OBDII will drain your battery.

I ran with a ELM327 dongle attached for a short while with no issues - and Ian ( @idk ) used one for ages AFAIK with no issues.

No more drain than an alarm or aFlasher - Ecliptech

Maybe one of the Scangauge users can chirp in. But I will look out the ELM and see if Torque sees Oil Temp.
Also I have a VI guage that is for OBD-2 - it powers off even if connected all the time.

I have been using a similar Garmin product for a couple of years now with no concern over the battery drain.
