Rocket 3 tourings are common here in NZ. What would one need to convert the small 180 rear to the 240 set up ...just wondering
 
im thinking custom..i like the tank.touring front less screen with chopped fat ass rear, low
straight bars ...sorta got a look in my mind...cool low n bad , shiny front end.. custom paint flat in orange...bookoo shiny bits up front..gauges,spotties, minimalistic fat rear, single seat. up to 200hp in engine mods, using standard head.

If you're going to completely build a new bike then sure, anything's possible. The whole rear end of the Touring is different from the other models.

For what you're thinking, look at the length of the Touring tank and the amount of pull back in the stock bars. Low, straight bars would mean you will be basically prone over the tank in order to reach them. In my opinion you'd be better off starting with one of the other models, fabricating a new tank and front end.
 
I have a complete rear section of a standard if your interested in buying one. Also rear wheel, disc, caliper and final drive, rear guard with lights pretty much most parts you would be looking for except drive shaft and axle.

Hi Rick Im not sure I would try and convert it. The R3T tires have more options available and are a sh*t-load cheaper. The R3T's also handle better with the skinnier rear tire.

Sure someone will correct or confirm this but I think the diff's different too, they have different offsets/angles?

Funny I always thought it would be good to go the other way for my std the wide tire looks good though.

Thanks Mate but i have a complete bike for spares. Less some engine components. Thought i might buy a touring cheapish n fit the rear of the standard to it...including chopped guard n other not so expensive stuff..From the tank forward on the touring or classic,i like. Not so happy with the skinny tire look tho. Fat, low n chunky is the look im after, hence the flat bars. This is close to wot im trying for but with lots of chrome..gauges/rims/left n right up swept exhaust..fattest possible front tire...dreamin now hahaha....Must be different...with the short guard the tank looks huge. No, the missus does'nt know..yet
