Rocket III
Hey guys, I have a 2005 Rocket III. This is the standard that came with the double headlights. I'm thinking of putting a fairing on that would require the conversion to a single headlight. I'm not a mechanic; more of a parts changer guy who can do some limited trouble shooting. Any one done this conversion that can give some tips? I've seen too many people complain they changed this or that to the lighting system and it went wonky on them. Thanks in advance.

Hello....I've seen a few bikes between here and FB that have made the conversion...personally i don't think its as much of an electrical issue as much as a mechanical . Issue being mounting brackets and stuff for the new headlight...Pretty sure you can delete wiring from one side and be ok

I did it to mine and I just used the second light cables to power an led light bar that I installed on the forks. What fairing are you thinking about?

So at first I mounted a dual fatbob light to fit the fairing I wanted. There in the pic is where I mounted the light. Had to make the hole a bit bigger for it to fit but if you were to do a single light you can mount it upside down and make it work in the same spot. That’s not the finished product in the pic but you get the point.

For those that have done this, is there any links to the stuff you used?

this is an old thread
for those thinking about this do not leave a parking light connector with an empty bulb. the wires will short.
