hello all.
I have a Rocket III from 2006, black engine,dual seat and 140 hp in the papers that came with the bike.
Now I read that the dual seat, black engine 2006 is a " classic "
and there for only has 127 hp ?
is the handlebars/ foot pegs location different ?

All the rockets the Standard / classic / and tour before the 08 touring have 140hp
I have a standard which has what you just discribed, Pilon seat black engine with pegs and the shorter handle bars.

my bike was originally imported to germany.
I know it has 141 hp, it says in the reg. papers.
How do I see the difference between short/normal handlebars ?
Will the key lockable sissy bar from the touring fit on my
Rocket III ( classic) or whatever.

The locking sissy bar will not fit. The Classic has different bars. The only real way to tell the difference is to compare in person. Since your bike was imported to Germany it has a power limiting tune loaded (mandated by law?). You can have your dealer load a standard tune or get a Tuneboy and load one yourself to get full power.

Jan, we collectively have 4 to 5 years worth of world-wide, Rocket III experience here, on THIS forum. Hundreds of thousands of miles . The good (most of it, rest assured) , the bad and the ugly, to paraphrase a spaghetti western movie title, have been openly shared and generally resolved. The question... back to your question , if I may rephrase it, is: What it is that's really bothering you?

to my knowledge if its a 06 and has the black engine it's a Classic. By rites it should have floorboards and pull back handle bars. which pig9er is rite, hard to tell without comparison and also two tone paint. As far as HP rating in other countries, I'm no help. just remember that the "red ones" are fastest where ever you are!!Welcome to the fishin hole.

In '06, both the Standard and Classic have black engines. If it has pegs, its a Standard. If it has foot boards, it's a Classic. I have an '06 Standard and it has a black engine.

06 Classic has footboards w/toe heal shifter, 41" wide bars that are slightly pulled back, and a two up seating arrangement. A standard has 38" bars, foot pegs and a solo seat. All 06s have black engines. Bags w/embellisher, wind screen, and sissy bar/luggage rack (six pack carrier) became available as a packaged deal with the 07 Tourer (US Only). Classics were/are OEM equipped with the bologna pipes. And Classics have the "Classic" emblem on the side covers.

Thank you all, for your welcome words to me.
My Rocket is 2006, black engine, foot pegs, 2 up seating, and no " classic" emblems anywhere.
So I assume that mine is a standard, with added seat arrangement for 2 up ?
Not that it matters all that much to me, I love the bike
and have planned a lot of extra farkles.
Have allready a Camping trailer in order.
