anyone got a colchester 2500 master 600 lathe that can take a good photo of the screw cutting - feed pate ,as the one we have just bought has part of it rubbed off (looking at the plate its the right hand column down to 1mm pitch)and i mean the plate that tells you where too put the levers so you cut the right pitch.

Ours is a Mastiff 1400, I has scanned the page in the manual with the diagram of the plate so PM me on lesday@wn.com.au and I will email you the scan. It may be the same.
Les.
PS ours is damaged in the same place on the lathe, must be the swarf hitting it!!

Shoot wish I could help but haven't seen a Colchester in 20 yrs or more .

I suppose you could take some test cuts and get it by process of elimination.

Rarely get to do any old school any more all CNC.

Some of these " pushbutton machinist " haven't a clue as to what it took before computers and even calculators.

Matter of fact I've found some don't have a clue period as it's my job to help train them.

I found a picture of the plate for a colchester master 6 1/2" in a book called Machine Shop Training , 3rd Edition ISBN 0-07-077680-6. I photocpied it but do not know how to post it. If there are any specific settings i can let you know.
