hello all. So I've got my pride n joy on the Virge of taking out for a test run after a lengthy and enjoyable engine swap. BUT this step is baffling me after combing over many many threads of this similar/ exact same issue. With following the captains n gurus step by step words of wisdom....haha she still don't wanna work with me. Here's my trouble n how I tried to follow the steps
>1st adjustment was threading the cable until almost flush up at the lever
2nd>I then went to the connection at the actuator arm with the two adjustment nuts, slowly threading down until the clutch lever had enough freeplay to fit a penny and dime into this space

(Bad pic to show. I am depressing clutch lever in just as actuator begins to disengage, while placing my coin spacers by gap.)
3>From here I started to adjust only at the handle bar lever. But not really seeing huge progress.
Yes awhile in first gear. Cannot push. With clutch lever fully depressed bike can slowly be pushed but with resistance....Any further advice or tips would be unbelievably welcome and yet again appreciated.
To recap this is a used 2014 rocket 3 roadster engine wt 30,107 miles on it...so far engine has shown no signs of not being as advertised. A very straight up purchase. Where no description of faulty or worn clutch components were to be described

u probably have it correct
give it a try
a pic of the arm on bottom would b nice.
basically all u want is not putting any pressure on the lifter piece on the inside at the clutches
mine always seems like it drags before i run the motor for a while

Haha well alright. Frigging good stuff XD seriously tho thanks for giving a better heading. Yeah il definitely be starting er up again her soon then knowing that phase is better on track. Gots ta retighten a few misc things on bike. Will let u know how it goes brotha!

Well got er out n about!! Nice easy 1st gear roll n went to second very well! She's givin me attitude today for some reason with not wanting to idle right. But I can tell that clutch cable setting is still far from close to perfect. Easy low rpm rollin down a few blocks. But she's hanging up somewhere...couldn't resist a quick throttle jolt way back in.lol point is can feel er dragging above lower rpms.
But hey good signs her gears seem to be as advertised...haha at a glance of reuniting with her

i prefer to the settings more in the middle but u can chose
on the bottom i would turn the top nut up about three turns then the bottom up till tight then loosen on the clutch lever the top holding nut and turn the adjuster out three turns.

Hmm I already tried fiddling some with the adjustments as soon as I got out there tbh. The original pictures adjustment settings weren't allowing bike to move at all and stalled it first go. Heres the current settings as to the poor quality ride I mentioned:)

whether u can pull the clutch in and move the bike does not mean much
the 2-3 mm free play is what u want to get

Hmm ok thanks that actually puts a lot of this in perspective. Do you feel the poor idle and back fire etc is associated with this clutch adjustment

no clutch cable should have no bearing
i think that it will run the same with clutch in
as it would clutch out in neutral.
is that all fresh gas u r using?
i think i am having trouble with injectors in the morning after it runs for a while it runs perfect
