Thanks guys, wasn’t sure about the springs rate for the Barnett kit but was only asking in case they were too heavy, nothing wrong with originals.
I decided to follow the advice given and just buy the Barnett kit, rather than just friction plates
@warp9.9 the steels towards the back where the friction plates were gunged up were slightly blue but all looked in good condition, what am I looking for? I’ll see if any of them are exhibiting signs and post some pictures. Although I am pretty much sorted it’s always useful info for others in the future.
Question, what exactly does the small round clutch cover with 3 bolts and the thick rubber gasket behind it actually do? Seeing the word gasket, I ordered one with the one for the main casing but now wonder what the hell it does at all

it wasn’t expensive, about 8 quid.
