Carpenter video clip

I do prefer the looks of the original design.
Yes it works for me also. The new pipe making the same HP gives others a choice of what they like.
@BillB I forgot to answer your question on the Megaphone mount. Yes there is only one on the megaphone which holds the pipe securely to the bike frame. The springs on the headers are quite strong and hold the front of the pipe well. ( mine still has the springs and mounts under the shields. As Stripes stated his came off the header mount in the Ozarks but what he forgot to mention is his mechanic figured the mount on the megaphone was there for looks as it was not attached to the bike. Guess what? if you do not bolt any pipe on the bike it will come off even the OEM ones (after the shields rattle off ) Of course his Megaphone was different from any other Carpenter pipe I have seen. It had about 3 to 6 inches cut off it which made the megaphone about 3 to 3.5" at the end and someone welded a baffle in her.

Nice day today so I might try the end cap without the baffle just to see the sound difference between unbaffled, just a end cap, and of course open like Gabriel's Trumpet

Thanks for that Scott. Hopefully I will be able to get a pipe and a ramair filter and buy-beg-borrow or steal a tune before Maggie Valley this fall. I talked to a guy at Carpenter Racing and he said the open megaphone wasn't TOO loud. 'No worse than a straight piped HD'

I find it to be about as loud as a straight pipe HD , but with a much different tone. I had also heard that you could send your ecu into Carpenter and they could flash a new tune to it for $200 , I do need to check on that.

You heard mine at RAA, that has the cap with no baffle
I entered a loud pipe contest, and only had 112 db. All the open pipe HDs were putting 118-124 db.

I did that a few months ago, yes it's $200, and a noticeable increase on the butt dyno.

Yes but I might have done some drinking there also
But thanks for jogging my memory coonass
I opted to ride today instead of working pulling the baffle out. Been thinking about taking a ride tomorrow hows the Oysters down there

You are welcome brother.

The weather is hot. Generally it's best to eat oysters in months that have an R in it.

@Steel & Art..So if one was to get the Tuneboy flash and Carpenter Brute pipe (with Ramair intake) what apprx/ballpark numbers (hp/tq) can one expect? Is the ECU flash the same tune regardless of what year Rocket you have?
