I've been exchanging e-mail with Chris at Anderson Stands. His stands are not that expensive it's shipping from Australia that is outrageous!

It looks well built and modular so it doesn't take that much room in the garage.

I'm trying to see if we could setup some kind of group buy.

My idea was to have them shipped to me for Canadian people and someone else in the US and reshipped from there, I'll hav eto crunch numbers making sure it worth the trouble... Anyway, this way we are looking at way more decent shipping prices.
Another option is to have them shipped ground (+/- 10 weeks) which is way cheaper than Air.

We don't know the exact figures right now, I'm just canvassing to see if there is enough people interested.

The numbers I was given so far, and it's not rock solid are the following:
Air - C$300 (regular price)
Surface - C$255 (regular price)
Surface 2 stands: C$245

Your thoughts are appreciated.

Rook,

Looks handy, but I already have a cycle lift and am saving for a motorcycle platform/table lift with drop tail and side extensions.

Thanks.

Looks like the one ive already got.Bought mine from windy corner(Triumph dealer) 2005 good bit of kit.Id be stumped without it.

Hey Rook
I really like the look of these stands to. The shipping will kill us almost anyway you do it. I wonder what they would think if we found someone here to make them and paid them a royalty for each one sold?

+1 on the shipping. I'd really like to have a simple, lightweight stand like that but the shipping is just killer. I wonder if there is a North American distributor who ships surface in bulk.

I just sent the following note to NewR3:

"Do you carry, or would you consider importing and carrying the Anderson Motorcycle Stand, presently made in Australia? It is a very simple square tube adjustable motorcycle lift that hooks up to the center stand mounting holes. I’ve included a link from the R3 Owner’s Group web site that has some pictures. Hopefully it will come through.

There are a lot of Triumph owners who would purchase one of these from a U.S. distributer. Safely lifting the bike is one of biggest challenges for we Rocket III owners. I use a scissors style Black Jack and cringe every time I lift it.

Allright, so far, If I order a dozen (12) of them shipped GROUND (can take awhile) We're looking at C$180 per stand at present exchange rates.

That is if all 12 of them are shipped to my address. This doesn't include reshipping nor customs/duties charges.

I don't mind ordering them and paying up front but I don't want to get stuck with 10 stands.
