Can a Rocket III take down the establishment, and rule this island

Thanks for the supportive words. Yes Kev I'd only gone to about 70% throttle at moderate aggression and 6000rpm max so far.

Pulled the cams and head today. Cams all in good nick, tensioning guide showing a groove from the chain will need a new one next year maybe.
Good news is the pistons are all perfect from what I can see. Valves and combustion chamber too.
So I haven't been getting knock unknowingly.
Chain same length as last inspection.

The titanium retainers weren't bad, they hadn't worn any more since last inspection a few thousand miles ago.
Except one, was close to a breach!
Caught in time.

I hate this job, the collets are a pain in the neck.

Been an eventful 24 hours.
Lost some time due to a septic tank overflow. Pump capacitor was blown.
One of the guys from work, on his GSXR 1000, got hit by a drunk driver yesterday evening and is critical in hospital now.

Anywho pulled out the Carpenter turbo pistons today. The beefy Carrillo gudgeon pin clips are tough to get in and out.
They're designed to be 8.0:1 afaik but that's in a 2.3L engine.
In a stroked 2.5L that ends up around 8.6 or 8.7:1.

So out with them now and in with my own custom made 8.0:1 (in a 2.5L Stroker) turbo pistons.
with these I should have to worry less about knock and use more ignition advance than with the "8.7" ones.

Spent the evening gapping the rings.

You can see Carrillo use the pretty much the same piston model but took out some meat in the crown on the left (my custom ones) one to lower the compression.

whats the weight difference in those?

whats the weight difference in those?

Stock pistons assembly averaged 512g, the Carpenter turbo ones averaged 549g and these badboys are about 535g.

According to the piston spec sheets, the Carpenter turbo piston (only) weight is 402g, and my custom ones are 390g.

So 12g less metal.
