Seems to be the easy bit. Wheels were off for new tyres so as per recommendations here I removed the bevel box to 'grease the splines'. So I did that, but am having trouble putting the bevel box back on. The actual shaft drops to the bottom of the shaft tube and I can't get the bevel drive in. Any tips from those that have done this before?
thanks
Try putting a new or clean hack-saw blade under he shaft when you feel the splines mating pull the blade out and continue the replacement of the bevel box.
I always use the string trick with great success. Now you could do it like warp said but keep in mind he has done this a 1000 times so he has had a lot of practice.
