2004 Triumph Rocket III
Hi all. been away for a break with my wife and although i haven't been around long i missed you all. Just ordered a new rear tyre/tire through my mate who will fit it as well, he's got me an Avon Cobra £170 fitted. I thought that was quite reasonable? He said they are a good boot. Replacing a Metzler Marathon. Has anyone got any pro's or con's with regards to the Avon Cobra. I know its a done deal now but still nice to get some experienced feedback.
I have been doing a few jobs on the Bike fitted an alarm put some fibre glass in the baffles. Oh and I found, fitted in the right side panel a "Dynojet Power commander III. Next step find and download some instructions for it. I got to thinking this might have something to do with the slight back fire issues that I am having?
I do like to tinker with my bikes and make them "mine" as it were so I don't mind sorting the odd problem. Don't get a lot of time to be honest as my Old lady has Cancer so I have to look after her but although she don't go pillion any more she likes me to have something to do in my spare time and has always loved the bikes.

I'm new to this forum but I wanted to say that I'm sorry about your wife. I was there with my wife as well and know what you are saying and how something to keep your focus can be very good. One day I hope to see we take cancer and kick it square in the stones once and for all. I'm sending a thought and prayer out to you.

Most everyone here agrees that the Avon Cobra is about as good as you could get for the Rocket & the Bridgestone Exedra Max also.
I changed my front from Metz to the Cobra & will never go back. I did however change out the rear from a Cobra when it wore out to the Exedra Max as some have reported a slight increase in mileage gotten out of the tire before needing to re-shoe. For me they perform equally as well. So, you definitely chose a tire that at the top of the list

I'm running an Avon Cobra on back right now and love it. I paid $183 (£134) for the tire shipped free from ATV Parts, ATV Tires, Dirt Bike Parts, Motocross Gear, Motorcycle parts and Motorcycle Tires | Rocky Mountain ATV/MC. I took off the wheel and brought it into the local Triumph dealer who changed tires and balanced the wheel and new tire all for $30 (£23). If your buddy (mate) is doing the labor (labour) to remove and reinstall your wheel, you're getting a deal.
 
Thank you very much. I kinda thought I shouldn't of mentioned it. But what the hell. Maybe its a good thing? A Forum can be a place to offload to kind, like minded people who can be classed as friends. I don't want to create any bad even tho its more or less a dot on the card you will meet a keyboard ninja or two but no probs I'll cross that bridge..... So I opened a door to you all as that's who I am. I am also a member of a 1% club and still try and enjoy life as best I can, I do not intend to get political I just am grateful that you lot are here. This place is a great help to me so far and I hope will be for a long while. This is me folks. Again, thanks man.
 
Yes, He is going to come to my place trailer the bike to he's fix it up and return it home again. So a great deal.

We went through it all this winter. MY wife had ovarian cancer,it's a difficult thing to go through,we were fortunate,she is now dancing with NED (no evidence of disease) as they call it. She went back to work fairly early,but the energy level is still slowly returning. Best of luck to you and yours, that you will share the same outcome.
