Battery charger choice for tunecu flashing

Hey guys, I'm thinking about flashing my ecu with penners' map, and I need to know what battery charger to get. The Yuasa battery says 1.8 amps. Is that what I should look for in a charger?
Zero charging experience and as everyone knows, maintaining voltage above 12.5 during flashing is key so I wanna make sure I get the right one.

I’ve used Battery Tender Plus for years, now Optimate 4 for BMW Canbus port. The CTEK MSX5.0 reviews well. All battery maintainers are designed not to overcharge the battery. So if you draw it down, the charger needs to keep up. I’ve never had an issue maintaining the voltage using Tuneecu. Remove the headlight fuse.

I am thinking almost any charger will keep up however I think that the spikes is what messes up the download
For exampl the rap unit we use (borrow) has a special battery charger so it doesn't mess up the transmission
downloads
Some have trouble but they get it done.
 
Thats my biggest concern. Having the battery being charged, for example, sitting at 13v, then start flashing the ecu and its drops to 12.4 or thereabouts and then goodnight ecu. Is it worth the 3K risk for a map? I did 100s of ECU flashes for hayabusas and the battery use was never really an issue and a full flash with multiple map changes never took more than 5 to 10 minutes.
Would it be worth communicating with Yuasa batteries and seeing what they suggest?

I think what I would do is charge the battery then hook up to another charged battery like jumper my durango. But then most just go with the charger

Not sure what you mean? I mean, if most people have had success flashing penners' map, then I guess all i can do is follow their methods. There's not alot of vids out there with step by steps other than the guy on here from Canberra who did a flash vid. He already had his all setup beforehand which doesnt help my concerns
 
Hey mate, to add to my DM, if you have the stock battery and don't need to support any and every battery type ever (including lithium), then this CTEK MXS 3.8 pushes out up to 3.8A @ 14.4/14.7V and is $120 at Repco (club price). It is probably all you need. It purports to handle lead acid, some AGM, Gel etc (not lithium) on the doco on the CTEK home page. The bigger MSX 5.0 is $136 club price: CTEK MSX 3.8

I personally wouldn't trust any of the much cheaper ones you'd find at Supercheap or Repco...
 
Yeah mate just need one for this bike as it's the only one I have. The one you mentioned in the DM is probably overkill for what I need at 260 bucks. Is there particular charge settings on chargers for a certain use, as I wouldnt want to put out too much. The stock Yuasa battery states 1.8 amp on charge so I'm unsure what having more like 3.8 amp would do. Never charged an automotive battery before, hence my hesitancy and need for info
