After all the ballyhoo about what colour of bike is the fastest I will finally put the question to rest, the colours in the final race are the only ones that past the time trials.
I paid good money for this test and I do not expect anyone to buy me a beer at Maggie valley this May.

Black is the color of funerals, dead last, hearses are slow...ergo black can only aspire to be the slowest in any crowd of rockets.

Red is definitely the fastest, even though my red/black combo Rocket and Thunderbird are amazingly fast...even I bow down to the speed attained by a completely red rocket.

That'll keep Baggage1 and Scot in Exile away from stealing parts off of my bike if I go to the sandbox again...I'm such a kiss up.
