I saw two 20050 tunes on Tom Hamburg's site. One of them was labeled 20050TOR_Dyno. That's the one I chose because it seemed to have a better description. Until 3 days ago, I had no O2 sensor (one of the butcher jobs on the current exhaust set up). I bought one on ebay and re-uploaded that tune, without deleting the O2 sensor. Until then, I had no popping out the exhaust -which is an entirely different thing than backfiring, of which there is none.

I was getting 24mpg w/out the O2, but tons of torque. Haven't burned a tankfull yet w/ the O2. It seems to improve over several rides/starts after uploading a new tune, probably cuz the ECU is learning/applying new data. It's an awesome tune... hopefully won't burn holes in the pistons!

Here's another attempt at this photo****et thing:<a href="" target="_blank"><img src="" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Couldn't see the pic but g'day and welcome from Downunder. What is the "wrong" exhaust?

Hello to Australia! I'd love to visit someday
The bike has the original header, but the O2 (or Lambda) sensor hole was plugged shut. From there a corrosive steel homemade splitter is poorly attached to two Vance & Hines pipes that probably fit a Honda Shadow or Hardley Ableson. The joints have so many leaks that the previous owner slobbered pipe fitting compound all over it, which blew out after a few months. I arc-welded several of the leaks shut (after disconnecting the battery, of course! (those voltage spikes can fry an ECU!!)) and am enduring the noise until I fabricate a proper header/collector/splitter to feed a muffler on each side.
The current junk looks good after the heat sheilds are in place, so it's been tolerable.
