MOTW (modification of the week) a weekly contest where R3 owners get to show off their special, unusual and unique mods. Of course we will need a moderator of the contest and R3 owners will have to post pics of their mods. R3 owners can comment on the mods posted and vote for their favorite mods and at the end of the week a winner will be announced by the moderator with a pic of their new mod. We did something like it on the Dodge Truck World forum and it was alot of fun and it gets pretty interesting and informative. It also keeps everybody on their toes about GOOD mods available for the R3. Just a thought. I may be interested in moderating it if you'll have me, I did it at DTW and everybody got pretty passionate about it.
A Modification is anything you do to your R3 that mproves it's function or customizes it, personalizes it or simply changes it to your liking even in the smallest way. For example, installing different more functional headlights, foglights, deco lighting, custom paint, GPS and mounts, horns, grips, controls, mirrors, etc. Just like alot of stuff already on this site and making it a competition.
idk, If you can make those seat cover mods permanent then they qualify. The rear peg relocaters are cool. Is that for your feet to change positions on long rides?
Idk,
You know after about a week or so you would get tired of those new seat covers and want the old one back. But wouldn't it be nice to try em out for a week or so?
I will take a look at those relocators myself. Thanks for the pic
Interesting idea, RedRocket. From what I know of this crew though, we'd get more "seat covers" than permanent fixtures. Of course, I'd look at each and every entry with special interest.
IDK, your seat covers are a matching set. Deliciously rare find. I'd keep that set on hand, well away from the spousal unit's eyes. You know how envious women get about quality upholstery.
I think it is a good idea, both the seat covers and the original idea! But, there is always a but, or a BUTT in the crowd! Be prepared to be blasted by "some" who protest over "bolt on" "add on's" as not being good enough to post! With the few exceptions of some of you truly talented folks on here who manufacture articles for various motorcycles, most parts for bikes are either purchased from Triumph or are "converted" from other motorcycle types!
Then when that happens, from what I have seen, a few blast away because it's a "bolt on" and doesn't show any talent! Hell the only talent I have is bolting something on and the ability to hold a bike upright, well besides making some jewelry, dream catchers and a few other things!
Personally, I like seeing people's bikes for what they are, their own personal choice in a motorcycle, bolt on or not!
