it's triumph p/n T3880068, page 85 of the manual refers to it.
i'm just wondering what it's dimensions are, i don't feel like giving triumph 65 quid for one :Tip-Hat:

or does anyone reckon measuring the depth after taking out centre bolt & spring (also counting the number of exposed plunger ratchet teeth) when taking it off, and putting it all back the same way will suffice :D

The tool measure the drop tot he plunger 16mm and you add the spacer. You can rease the ceter nut to check this provided your tensione ris not screwed up and you do not turn the motor over. Pull measure if you 16 mm or more add the spacer. If not re-torque per specs. and ride.

16mm eh, that's the dimension i needed. thanks warp. :Tip-Hat:
did you get the tool or are you just that good?

This is the spacer. No more rattle for me. Your issue may or may not be the same and this is not a claim that my results will be indicitive of your current or future results. :)

thanks for the pic mitch, i've ordered one of them just in case

If memory serves me correct it was .390" diameter and .355" long.

the spacer? i was hoping for a pic of the tool

Someone on here had the measurements for this tool at one time. Looks pretty simple to make. I used Warp's rule of thumb. Plus I had a rattle.

yep that is what it looks like and is made out of white nylon and the lenght os the small diameter is 16 mm. I used Vernier calipers to check mine.
