Prolly doesn't make a heck of alot of difference R&R, especially if you change oil more frequently than recommended in the manual. Myself, I change my 100% synthetic oil every 5-6,000 miles.

I have used the Wix filter in several. Right now I have a NAPA PS1358 flter iun the R3. Both brands a really good. I rode Moto Guzzi for awhile . They have a enclosed system around their flters. To many stories about split fram sides and toasted engines. BMW riders will stay away fromthem also .
