Only sort of..I'm down the coast running the business for half the week and up there the other half. Kids and schools and other stuff made it the right decision. Its sort of nice being back in civilisation as well. Only problem is I've clocked up 700 km on the R3 this year...its too bloody cold now to ride it up to Canberra no matter what Richard says so its been sitting in the shed on the coast.
I'm sure not saying it's warm, but with the right gear there's no problem with shortish trips of, say, less than 40 minutes at a time. Emphasis there is on "right gear".

I'm too much of a woos to take on -9 like this morning no matter what I'm wearing...I'm looking forward to getting the bike up to Canberra when I get a chance, dagging around between coffee shops on a sunny Saturday morning or the odd run out of town. My big plan is a trip out Bourke way later this year, when it warms up.

I spent the best part of twenty years commuting 30 km across that icy wasteland, I can understand the Kids a school thing tho they have some good schools and career opportunities there, don't know if I'd go so far as saying civilization... my idea of civilisation is the slower pace of life down here on the coast
Nice Richard but so cold .just looking at that picture having spent many years up in the mountain ranges sends chills up me spine. That street heading away from the war memorial. Anzac parade I think it is or was about 50 years ago. Lived there for five years.left there when I was seven.I used to go down and watch the earthmoving scrapers making lake burley griffin..memories memories
Canberra is actually a very beautiful City and contrary to what a lot of visitors say it is easy to navigate around being well planned out with ample signage telling you where to go, It is adorned with some great Venues, Museums and Galleries
I lived and worked there for 8 months in 2008 , didnt make one friend the whole time i was there, people just seemed to be very shut out and not open to outsiders
