Heres what happens when you don't wear boots. WARNING Dont look if you are sqeamish.

Just got home from a great ride and nice dinner with my wife... Then saw this.

Go take a look at Rock The Gear . This young lady has made it her personal crusade to get people to wear ATGATT , All the gear all the time. She was yanked off of a bike at appx 120mph and then slid down the road for about 500 feet or so, with no real gear other than a helmet.

With every extra bike on the road the chance of me being run into by some myopic, attention-challenged, text messaging tool is diminished...a bit like swimming in a crowd at the beach. So, i'd like as many posers on the road as possible! The kicker is that as riders it's only ourselves we stand to hurt - in the end only you will suffer the consequences of your actions so wear what you like....it's no skin off my nose....

I always wear gloves, usually wear boots and sometimes wear a helmet.

You could wear a helmet, full leathers and wrap yourself in bubble wrap and trade your Rocket in for a scooter with a top speed of 50 mph. How much fun would that be?

Don't you think mabey you got that around the wrong way.
That reads like your hands are really important to you, your feet not so much and your head can look after it's self.

hey 5 pages in 1 day..this thread got legs!..quit worrying bout how ya look..cause if ya do, you are most assuredly a poser..concentrate on how smooth you can ride..hitting the apex just right, smooth shifting and braking......I always ride with boots, gloves, and helmet...always..

Spot on Bruce. Helmet is THE most important thing to always wear - unless you don't reckon there's anything above your neck worth protecting. A few years ago the bike I was riding (not a Rocket) went down when a car backed into the front wheel. I was barely moving. My head hit the corner of the gutter so hard the helmet split and I was dazed. Try it. Sit on a chair a fall backwards and land with your head on a hard surface. If you reckon that's nothing then maybe you're perfect for not needing a helmet.

Boots

I have a difficult time finding boots that fit. I have a high instep, large calves and a 4E width. So I need a boot designed to fit a troll... Are there any other trolls out there that can recommend where to buy?

Although only equivalent to a EEE, what do you think about either of these

This thread has me thinking, Boots and gloves easy enough, goretech jacket with some body armor when I know i'm going out to cause trouble, but how do you look over your shoulder with a full face helmet on? I'm an idiot I guess, I wear a helmet in states that require it. My sense of security while riding is seeing 360 degrees around and looking cagers in the eye in traffic, hearing is another sense that is muted when wearing a full helmet. I don't promote NOT protecting ones head, I personally feel more aware of my surroundings and able to react just that split second faster without a helmet. I have 2 cousins that died in seperate motorcycle accidents, they were each wearing helmets at the time. I promote choice. you bought a Triumph, posers don't buy Triumphs.

Am I missing something here, but how do you look over your shoulder with a full face helmet on? --- the same way you look over your shoulder if you have no helmet on YOU turn your head.
