I think I might take a few more chances knowing if everything runs as it should with al that power available the risks are minimalist .i say twist that throttle and enjoy the beast once you've got some experience under your belt . If the bike scares ya sell it.

HELL YES!!!
Besides, there is no pain involved in being dead.

I've hit 160 kph (100 mph) a couple of times and, frankly, it scared the crap out of me. Kinda fun but don't need to do it again.

I don't think so. You just seem sensible to me.
I laid down a nearly new V65 Sabre back in 1985. That changed the way I ride. Honestly, 115-120 MPH is plenty fast for me.
If I could get there in 2 seconds, that would be awesome. Acceleration is what I really like.

We take a chance every time we get on our bikes. Just ride within your comfort level and at your skill level and enjoy.

Why even care what the hell anyone else thinks.

went riding sunday, spent the whole morning at ~80MPH on backroads (the bike just seems at home ~3200 rpm)... got a ticket in the town as i was getting on the freeway for the final leg home... i got lasered making a left hand turn, 54 in a 45 he wrote me for (said i was going 64)... yeesh... now i have to slow down for a year...

i actually quit riding for a while 10 years or so ago because i started thinking about falling off all the time... not sure why it started being in the front of my head, but am sure glad it went back where it belongs in the rear of the audience...

I think you're slightly risk averse - a good prescription for a long and healthy life. I'm a little risk averse myself. I do over 100 on occasion - and do 90+ frequently - but the "where", "when" and "why" are important to me.

That was the thought that was swirling around in my head, falling off the bike at high hiway speeds and landing on a giant belt sander.
Started thinking of the hiway as a giant moving upside down belt sander .
Crap , I guess it's time now to get my head examined by a shrink.
