Already sold out

I think the point is you don't need to see the point. Not everyone rides to beat other bikes. A lot of people actually choose their ride for a whole range of reasons - straight out performance not necessarily being one of them. I ride because I like it and I can think of several bikes I'd be very happy to own even as my only ride. Only one of them can be the fastest.
THE point is I can voice my opinion as to how I feel about any bike from my perspective and performance doesnt mean just the fastest bike It has to be a great bike in all areas if thats what your looking for comfort ,handling ,braking, speed ,etc. etc. Thats why they are able to sell all these different bikes as they say there is an ass for every seat and picking the one you like is a personal choice so knock yourself out ride what you want BUT having tested these bikes I know what I would or will buy and IM buying a ZX14 over a SUPERDUKE as it does everything better to my liking There is a couple of KTMs available at discount prices in my area BUT I dont like much about the bike IF I did I woud buy one . The ZX14 is the best choice for me as a second or 3rd or ? bike for a whole range of reasons and its not just that its much faster and will run away from the DUKE but that helps so its the Z14 over the DUKE for me and its $4000 less thats the icing on the cake now hmmmm lets see what color will I choose ? OH and you can buy a leftover ZX14 for $10,500 thats hard to beat

I'v seen you around and know you like to stir things up. I called for a quote on insurance for the S1kr, not the rr just the single r and was told $1700.00. My sd1290 cost me $14k new, ins is $300. a year full with roadside and addl $3500 acc replacement. price a zx14 lately, how bout trying to ride one all day? the SD is easy on the knees, back, and neck in fact the only part of my body that feels any discomfort are my shoulders from holding on when I give it the juice. I am not the guy that walked into the diner bragging, in fact reading your last post YOU ARE. ride safe bro
HEY STEVO not stirring things up just my perspective after riding both bikes THE 14 is a comfy bike as its more of a supersport tourer than pure sports bike NA no bragging at the breakfast spot I like those kinda guys to pick on me when Im on my modded Rocket as they are always beating up the cruiser guys and are in for a big surprise when they pick on my BIG ROCKET

Glad to see you picked up their Duke! My buddy test rode the SD when I was testing the rocket out and it is his dream bike (it probably was that one you ended up buying!)

He literally pulled over in a fit and I asked him what was wrong. He replied "I need to figure out how to take this thing out of sport mode! It is insane!"

Very badass bike, it sounds so sweet too. Hope you enjoy it.

We buy the standards because they're geared for the street for 1 and the upright position is a more comfortable option for some. the s3 was triumph's flagship model for 20 years only to be passed by another standard the st3. truth is we're all wrong and harley is right why else would they own 1/2 the market.

nice steve... this is a great forum for the 1290 KTM Super Twins Forum - Active topics
i was waiting for the gt version and its got some nice additions but priced above 20 k.. ill do what you did and geta 15 for 13k. for the diff i can do custom paint and even bst carbon rims. im sure the adjustable windshield and cruise control from the 1290gt will work on the 1290 r also.
r3 stock .17 p/wht
1290 stock .40 p/wt more than double... glad to know i wasnt the only one whose throttle arm went numb on the r3.

ONE thing is the HARLEY guys dont seem to argue with each other like the ROCKET guys like to do and they dont run any car tires I havnt seen a one that is a surprise as Ive seen some with huge 360 rear MC tires

Crazy how a couple years ago you never saw a r3 on the road now by me I see them daily
I never see R3s anymore. Our dealer shut the door about 6 years ago. Closest dealer is 5 hour ride. Just makes mine more unique at gatherings.

We had some unseasonably warm weather last weekend so I went on a mission to trade my 2013 S3 SE on a new or like new R3r, I have 3 triumph dealers all close enough to visit in the same day and all of them were sold out of their 1st shipment of R3r's!!!! It's still winter here! I think motorcycles best kept secret is finally out, anyhow getting antsy for a new steed I picked up a new leftover black 2015 KTM superduke $14k. Gentlemen, if this bike can't get me to forget about the R3 nothing will. I took the senic route home and kept it under 6500rpm (as well as I could) so for comparing them all I can say is the power compares well and my throttle arm didn't go numb! only bike so far I can say that about. If you ride solo and want R3 power in a lighter package look no further, sorry the s3 may be faster than the r3 but it sure don't feel like it. anyhow i'm still not selling my r3 acc's yet.
ILL be riding with a DUKE owner this season so I can report back and provide interesting info pertaining to his experiance of owning one of the new KTM superbikes

The 690 is the Duke, the 1190 and 1290 are the superduke but I think the super bike is the rc8
