I'm guessing firmware version 2.5 is what you want. The later versions are for CAN vehicles (like BMW bikes). I don't know if that means they won't work on non-CAN vehicles or only that they're CAN compatible.

BTW Sam, are you using the stock fan on the new radiator? I'd like to find a better fan. In higher temperatures the stock fan really struggles to bring the temps down from 218. Today in 80 degree ambient temps I was seeing 222-224 before the fan started to slowly bring it back to around 215.

I'm guessing a better fan would help but it may be that there's just no room between the fan and engine block and thus nowhere for the air to go. Unlike the sides which are relatively open.

it's the spal 7" like they use however there is much more spacing with this set up.. ill see what the outside temp is , start bike, see how long it takes to cycle to fan as compared to stock

unfortunetly there isnt a # i call call to ask tech questions.. just their forum. if it works ill pick up 2 of these for testing of rad, when im done ill sell at least one at discount price.. ill prob have to keep one cuz it's way coooooooooooooler than what brian has.. course tomo's pipes are going to leave him a quivering mass of jelly soon anyways

If someone could send a Rocket fan to Muzzy's I bet that they'll make an better aluminum one.

If you go to JEGS or Summit automotive they have fans that can be mounted to the outside of the radiator. Most use a nylon strap that goes through the cooling fins so there is no real mounting issue.

I have never checked the temps on mine but if the fan does kick on (rarely) it seems to bring it down pretty quickly. Check your coolant level, and check the connectors and wires to your stock fan. It appears that if you get an air bubble in the Rocket's cooling system, its a little hard to bleed out. Check the radiator itself for bugs, dirt, litter and vegetation. I had a guy in a truck who's radiator was plugged with some kind of grass seed. He said he's never driven anywhere but the hiway, but the seeds must have been blowing across the road.
