WHY would you be upset ?

No. Perhaps he wanted to give it a thorough checking out on multiple road surfaces or conditions. 3 miles out and three miles back actually strikes me as a pretty quick check, especially on machines as capable as ours!

YOUR lucky he spent the time to test drive your bike some wouldnt even leave the shop

I think the Triumph tech at the dealer likes rockets lol. Every time I pick it up hes got a **** eatin grin on his face.

I am cool with that mileage. Like Phil said, testing it on different road types and at different speeds may necessitate riding a few miles to cover the bases. Now if the back rubber is missing, I will have a problem then...

I took the V-rod for a test ride when it first hit the stealers, came back a hour later i thought the guy was going the have a heart attack...

I always check my odo now since I brought my truck into a shop for service and got it back with 1/2 tank of gas missing!!! My mech usually only puts 2 miles on my bike, probably once around the block. i'm good.
