I'm guessing this is an issue that is uniquely mine, but I thought I'd see if anyone else has had this.

My bike has a audible vibration from about 3900 rpm to about 4300 rpm. From my perspective, it sounds like its coming from the dash, but that can be deceiving inside a helmet. I've removed everything I've added or modified, and nothing changes the sound. I've tried grabbing everything withing reach while riding to see if anything dampens it and nothing does. I did the stock muffler mod, so maybe there's something there, and putting the factory muffler back on is my next thing to try, but it just doesn't sound like it's coming from there, and pushing my boot against the muffler doesn't help dampen the vibration.

I cannot remember when it started, as I've never been found of the sound of the Triple, so maybe it's just part of the experience?

Anyone had this or have any ideas?

Have you checked the front mudguard? There are two "fingers" that slide into two plastic clips.... the "fingers" should be given a layer of tape to let them fit tight. I have read that this can be an issue....

Thanks. I thought this might be it, as there was some squeaking when I moved it by hand. I took it apart and made sure it was firmly attached, but that did not help my noise.

Could you get away with riding it without a helmet on just a little bit in the neighborhood in 1st gear to help pinpoint it?

Unfortunately, 4000 rpm is pretty fast, even in first. Have to get out on the main road, and no helmet is a $500 fine here. I'm going to try to dig up a DOT half helmet, but it's weird in that it comes and goes as I move my head around. sounds like the engine is about to self destruct at some speeds with no earplugs. Makes me constantly want to short shift.

I wrapped some electrical tape around the tabs for the front mudguard and that solved a very similar rattle for me.
I used some double sided tape and left the plastic on the other side to stop it from sticking. It acts like a cushion
