You need to find the serial numbers for before and after the upgrade and compare to the last 6 numbers on the VIN. The numbers weRe posted on here not long ago, maybe someone can remember where they are.
Mine is an 8/08 and it was well past it

Welcome to the site Paul.
First big road bike huh?
You'll fall in love.
a bit of advice if you don't mind.
riding your Rocket is like sex, only better
cause you don't have to waste time trying to please your partner.
You just hop on her an ride and the harder you thrash her,
the better she responds.....

Welcome mate advice? take it easy til you learn the bike, it'll tip( cornering) a lot further than you think it might;but once your sliding on the pegs/boards that's as far as she goes!! ( 'til you've worn away all that excess unnecessary metal)
and 2ndly, DON'T stamp on the rear brake!! esp if going downhill.. it's a strong brake & you'll lock up the rear....when you do this you will remember I told you not to!

thanks for the encouragement. i can deal with the black engine at 20 LESS horsepower (ha ha) as i weigh about 186 w/ normal clothes/sneakers. i look forward to the ride home even if it rains. then a few days later north to spokane for the 500 mile service. then back over to the west side for my grandparents 65th wedding anniversary on the 14th. i plan to take it very easy and i will watch the back brake. i cant fathom 65 years w/the same woman. do married men live longer or does it seem longer? i am 43 and never married. 7 years the same female roommate is tough enough. i travel a lot. paul.
touche zimtuff, for me the 90s ended in 99 and happy hour a few years ago. i will put a better seat on eventually. today i think i will order the bikers freind xl. i need a bit of luggage space and a backrest. i think my 3/4 helmet will have to do for now. buy the way, i do have respect for those who can make a marriage work. i was having a moment. paul.
