My wife and I took a couple of weeks off away from work, we are going to ride down to Lexington NC to see my parents and siblings spending a few days in that area.
But we are trying to figure out what to see on the way back to New York.

Any suggestions... We like things like zoos'... aquariums... scenic stuff etc. Thinking Gettysburg for sure have not been since I was a kid. Not sure what else

When are you coming through? July 4th weekend can get a bit busy in Gettysburg - you know, Lincoln and his war of northern aggression. ;)

I can't recommend high enough to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway for its entire 469 mile length. Gatlinburg TN has an aquarium and is right at the southern end of the Parkway.

The Blue Ridge Parkway is a 469 mile federal parkway that begins just outside Charlottesville, VA and winds south all the way to Cherokee, NC. The primary speed limit is 45 mph with slowdowns near Visitor Centers that are spaced about 50 miles apart. I rode the full length 2 weeks ago and it was pure zen. It is advisable to do it in 2 days so that you can enjoy the spectacular eastern mountain scenery.

I will do that in the next couple of years when I can take time and enjoy it. I was in a big rush this weekend and didn't have time.

We got home yesterday from the trip, just under 2000 miles. The bike ran great, the trailer pulled like a dream. We saw a lot of great country. Stayed off the highways and took the back roads, and even some dirt roads. Could not get over the poverty we saw in some areas and the conditions some people live in in such beautiful country.
I can see the need to get a better seat, my tailbone is still tender.....also would like to find a way to get cooler air to the intake. Had a great trip...

Your tail bone should be ok by Thursday right? Gettysburg Bike week starts then through Sunday. Poker runs each day except Sunday, concerts everynight...
