i think the screw was meant as a safety so some dumb ass won't take it off after u ride the bike and get it hot.

As for the screw, I'm guessing it's to prevent the cap from rotating loose?

I kept the screw but didn't reattach it - will hold on to it for later though if there are issues. I did a search and in other threads most r3 owners didn't reinsert it as it is just a "safety feature" / pain in the rear. Thanks for the feedback!

So to update you guys the new radiator cap did the trick! No more burping. Glad it was an easy fix - now to go and simply enjoy the ride. ✌
