1st ride of 2015

If it isn't raining/snowing and not icy take em out if only for a 20 mile ride. I took mine to get some parts the other day at 34F. I crossed paths with another bike. Just happened to be a Rocket Touring. Man that is ultra rare in good weather, let alone in this freezing weather.

I managed to get out for about 40 or so miles this morning. My first ride of 2015 and really enjoyed it.

51 degrees F (11C) here today, planned on getting a ride in this afternoon, but after 24 hours of rain, (thinking great wash all the salt off the road) below freezing temps overnight they salted the living $hit out of the roads this morning!! Rain, snow, and below freezing temps for this week coming up. Oh well, someday I will get on the road again. ( hopefully sooner than later) Cabin fever is kicking in full bore! Back down to the basement to do some small upgrades on the beast I go. If I drink anymore booze I will need a new liver before spring!! 1 bourbon 1 scotch 1 beer!!!!!!!
Winter has never bothered me this much before I bought the rocket. Not sure if it because of my age or how much I miss riding this fantastic machine.

Got home from a school event around 1230 yesterday, sun was shining and temp was up to 40F. Finally, my first real opportunity to ride in 2015. There was still a lot of residue on the roads, but I had to get out no matter what. Rolled the Rocket out, but she no start. Had been off the tender for a few days. :banghead:

Good thing I've got a backup, so I had to take the Beemer out to run an errand. Placed a call to one of my BMW Club buddies, and we had a nice 50-60 mile romp as the clouds rolled in.

Sorry you didn't make it out Jag, but I enjoyed it enough for both of us. :D

It is snowing now. Forecast (depending on which you are looking at) calling for anywhere between 2 and 24 inches over the next 36 hours. Wish I had a job like that!

I put on a couple hundred miles on Saturday. Started out a little chilly at 36F but warmed up to the mid 50's after a couple of hours

It looks like this January will be the first time in 5 years I didn't ride at least one day in every month of the year, I have gear to ride in any weather, but the snow, slush, and ice have been unrelenting, with sub zero temps, they never melt off.

The thread title was First Ride Of the Year. I think you've ridden before this weekend. If I remember correctly, on the 2nd day of the year you and another fool on a bike, and one lovely lady on a Spyder, rode all the way across the Gulf coast on a quest for sun and sand.
