I should be getting my new 07 Mulberry R3 this week. I will be dropping off the Tribal Tins, that I was so lucky to find, at the dealer tonight. I will also do the TORs in place of the stock exhaust.

I plan on selling the stock 07 Tins and Exhaust on Ebay. Looking for your opinion on $. I was thinking $1500 for the Tins and pipes would be a fair price.

What do you think?

If you are talking fenders, tank and side covers, $1500 is more than fair... Triumph wants $2200 for a new set of tins... Tins plus the exhaust makes your deal a steal IMO....

skins

willy--if a feller didn't know what you paid fer yo tribal skins from cody kissell ( kissell motorsports) up there in state college , pa.--i guess he'd consider that a good deal? course if he did know---guess he'd have another opinion! caveat emptor!-----john

brand new tins are selling for between £300 and £400 on Ebay uk

=

between $600 and $800

and slightly used ones are going for much much cheaper.

So it sounds like I may want to adjust my price. $1500 for the tins and stock pipes may be too high. I am surprised that the tins are going for such a low price since the dealer quoted me $2250 as the MRSP. If Ebay history reflects $600 to $800 then with the pipes $1000 sounds more in line. Thanks for the information guys.

So John, it sounds like you were interested in those tribal tins. It was great meeting Cody and his dad. I wish they were closer to Philadelphia as they have a great shop up there. It's a shame Triumph doesn't continue production of that design.

r3

was never interested in tins as you know. cody and crew are great folks. i'm the one who pm'd you very early sunday a.m. to inform you of tribal tins and inquire about totaled r3 for motor. obviously ,you'd rather one of these auction scab outfits get it than an r3owners member!! ----john

John,

Sorry for my misunderstanding. I rechecked my PMs and your message said. "Nice List". That was all. I did reply back just now for you to see the PM I received. So it never connected for me that you were interested in the wreck. I never received a PM from you telling me about the Tribal Tins. But now this is making sense to me as I couldn't understand the underlying tension that seemed to be there regarding this this situation. But since you sent a PM (that I didn't get) I can see why you feel disappointed that I would not have thanked you for giving me the headsup as well as not checking into the salvage options to see about getting the engine. I certainly would have checked into this for you as a fellow R3 owner.

Since the bike was totalled, the insurance company had the bike towed away and I don't know what options we would have had regarding getting the wrecked R3. I will contact the insurance company to see where the wreck ended up to see if we still have access to the motor.
