    Oil in coolant. ADVICE needed

It got flushed last year. I use dthe same coolant this year. From what I see, it appear to be something fluffy. It floats if left alone 24hours, defiintely not oil! It clots, definitely not a liquid. I'm thinking there was a piece of paper or some fibre in the new radiator or hoses last year...

    White stuff in coolant

Oh my Oh my people! This is getting out of hand! lmao I tried the coffee filter at first and since the substance is white I didn't see anything, it just clogged up the filter. Then I Scooped some off the top of the jar with a dark shop towel. It's definitely white. It doesn't cling to a rag...

    White stuff in coolant

To answer all questions - Bucket was used for water. I washed it before too - Nobody had an alone time with the bucket - Not even close to my urine sample - Did not flush before, it was the same coolant type/brand that I have been using before @leatal That's what I did. Seem to be running...

    White stuff in coolant

Hi All, So my water pump was leaking (from the vent) on my 2006 Rocket 90,000km , I got a new pump. I notice that the seal is installed backwards compared to the original. Which one is right? (old pump on left, new one on right) Would orientation of the seal affect anything? I'm afraid I will...

    Oil in coolant. ADVICE needed

I was talking for a coworker and he doesn't think the white substance in the coolant is actually oil. His theory is that it's shredded paper or something similar floating around. When I took the picture, the bike had not run for days.

How do you refit the rear wheel ?

I make sure it's all clean first, clean the final drive of old grease Refitting the rear wheel, I usually put a smear of blue (water resistant)grease on the spindle, a little inside the seals before I put the spacers back and some on the splines. How much grease do you put?

How HOT is your final drive?

I bought an infrared thermometer. Rode for an hour and it read 51C on final drive 55C/131F at the spindle. :/ Dropped the FD oil anyway, it looked good. Little metal dust as usual on the magnet, but the oil looked good for 4500km since last change. Took the tire off, one bearing is almost...

How HOT is your final drive?

I was checking the wheels/bearing when I noticed the final drive. Drive shaft, wheels were cool. Just the final gear was hot. Didn't notice the center bolt though. I'll go for a short ride and re/assess it.

How HOT is your final drive?

I finally got her back together. Took her for a spin, everything seem to be fine. Looking for hot spots , (yes I'm talking about the rocket) touching the final drive it's hot! I only rode for 25 minutes at 20C, any warmer I wouldn't keep my hand on it. I changed the oil last year. Had no...

"2300 CC" emblem for a Rocket III

I would personally go for 2.3L Two reasons, I'm cheap and it's probably cheaper. Second is it's easier to line up! :D On a serious note, I like it! Good job

    Found these

I recognize the R3owners.com patch. Reminds me of the Lake Tahoe Salvo :) What happened to that site anyway? Feels like a ghost town in there!

    Throttle cable adjustment

Before I start, I must say I don't think I'm an idiot..... So I'm trying to adjust the throttle cables as per the shop manual. It's not my first time but every single time I go thru the same thing. I adjust the pull cable with free-play of 2-3 mm at the handle. Then tighten the return to 2-3mm...

High beam indicator problem using LED headlights (Solved)

As mentioned in another thread, One could instead put a 5A diode on the high beam lead. That would need to be done on both sides, would cost more and there will be a slight voltage drop (0.3V - 0.6V) on high beams only. Technically the diode is the right thing to do. But since the leakage is...

    Day makers for Rocket 3

What's the voltage drop of the diode? 0.3V? I didn't have any 5A diode on hand. I put a 1/4W 1.8K resistor from high beam to ground and that fixed it.
