My left hand switchgear is different than the owners manual as it's lacking some features. Maybe the gen 3 R gets some cost cutting measures.

Went ahead and ordered a few things, the touring handlebars are on backorder, but I wanted to know how many have done the work themselves? I don't expect much trouble from the bars, but replacing the cords and cables could get interesting. I went with the Triumph sidebags,backrest & luggage rack mainly because Viking and SW-motech didn't offer mounting hardware for my model year. I went with a powerbronze light screen tinted. My wife generally gets the vote, but the screen she liked was $500 after shipping from Poland and I think I need to let the dust settle, take a deep breath and let my new financial condition land. I still plan on changing the exhaust, but I can hold on til the warranty runs out there. I considered the GT and moving the footpegs and controls, 6 of 1 half a dozen of the other.

How is it different? I think European bikes have a different daytime running lights button.

Touring handlebars on the 'R' model? Has anyone done it yet and should I hire somebody or can it be done without special skills/tools?

The passenger backrest, luggage rack with the detachable luggage and mounting hardware are installed. Installing the luggage hardware directions came up online first so I installed it first only to have to remove everything to install the backrest hardware first and then reinstall the luggage hardware, lol it went on faster the second time! Note if you're buying the Triumph acc's the backrest doesn't come with the backrest pad. The quality of the luggage hardware, cases and liners are high quality and fit well with my only complaint being the metal plate that goes behind the backrest pad has predrilled holes that were 1/4" too narrow to install. I ended up ovalling out the holes so the screws would thread, but considering the price and quality of the rest of the parts it was a surprising disappointment. I have what I need to put the GT handlebars on, but I'm not in a hurry to install it. Oil change was done at 550 miles and I decided to use amsoil 15w50 for now. My 1290sas is still getting the most attention because I'm just having too much fun riding the gravel and b roads out here. My windscreen is being shipped and once it arrives i'll probably start piling miles on the R3.
