Has anyone here had to replace the instrument pack (screen, dash, what ever you wish to call it) with a new one? Is this something the dealer has to do?
The replacement is simple enough. I just need to know if the dealer needs to do any voodoo to make it work correctly.
Thanks

yes, Dealer need to program it, 100%

or get the tool OBDstar and do it yourself

I bought what was supposed to be a NEW instrument pack on ebay. Had the dealer install it so all the "stuff" could be moved over and odo set. Turns out the pack was NOT new. It had 734 miles on it. The dealer can only set the odometer if it had not been set before. Their tool said it had been. I did send a flame to the ebay seller.
If I ever sell it, the actual mileage will need to be on the title with an explanation. Not a big deal, just an aggravation. I don't know if it is worth getting the OBDStar to correct, if it will do what the Triumph dealer could not.
So far, it appears that all functions are working correctly.
I showed a video of the "display on drugs" to the dealer. He said he had never seen a pack act that way before. Can't upload it here. Too large. But here is a screen shot!

LCD on the instrument is physically broken, for reference, a broken lcd from smart phone device. they leak 'LIquid' from LCD (liquid crystal display) all over once broken.

i will buy the old one from you, if you are willing to sell the broken instrument to me. I am looking for broken instrument panel so I can find the root cause of issue and possibly the fix for community. Thankyou

I don't think the issue is with a physically broken LCD screen, as the problem comes and goes and does different strange things. It doesn't look like a "leak" .. unless that is how a leak acts (I don't know).
I posted a video on youtube to show some of the antics.

I will consider selling the bad pack. Or just give it to you and you can return it if you manage to fix it... or not, as I would like to keep the unit for the glass cover, as that is what seems to break the most often.
Fair warning. Sometimes it will work correctly for an hour or more before deciding to fail in various ways.

The glass cover is available on AliExpress

I just found this on AliExpress:
Instrument Shell Dashboard Cover Accessories For Rocket 3 R GT 3GT Scrambler 1200 XE XC 2019-2025 Motorcycle Speedometer Housing

I don't think it's a simple fix to replace it but that is the physical item. I bought one but returned it as I thought it was a protective cover to fit over the unit

takes quite some skills to do that, though OP issue is not the top glass breaking/cracking, its the inside LCD
