What is the most someone increased their top speed to safely using the Penner Tune?
Thinking about increasing the top speed on a stock 2022 GT. Looks like you have to select the top speed to enter instead of just removing the top speed in TuneECU.

Pick the highest number you can. Power and drag will set the limit for you. The 2021 R3 GT we modded and took to Bonneville in 2024 and 2025 could hit 186 on the dyno. We got it up to 173 on tarmac. At Bonneville our record run in 2024 was 148 and in 2025 was 154. Riding on salt is like riding on ice/snow. A tad-bit slippery.

Besides the penner unrestricted, raising the RPM and speed, what was done to it to hit 186mph

The Penner tune will give you 0 speed increase, it just gives you more power and torque up to the governed limit.
You need to pay TuneECU to get the speed and RPM (+400) unlock features. I forget the cost but something like $39USD or somewhere around there.

The Viking exhaust took us to 172HP and 145Ft-lbs of torque, with some dyno tuning. Our biggest issue on the salt this last time was traction. We had more power than we could put to the ground, on the salt anyway.

Something to keep in mind. We dynode the bike in Jerome, Idaho. Elevation 3,750 feet.
