Negative cable location.

2021 Triumph Rocket 3 GT
Sorry for the dumb rudimentary question but I'm really new to working on things and I've scoured the forms trying to find this. I'm sorry if it's posted somewhere I just could not find it.

But where does the negative cable hook up on the bike itself? I'm having weird electrical issues I'm told to start there. I've already checked the battery and replaced it but it's still doing it. I called the Triumph dealer and they said it connected to the starter. I look there and I'm pretty sure that's the positive cable but is it in that location?

Look at the top of this page for "Resources." You'll find the service manual there. That should help.

check this thread and measure your bike values against the values in this thread and then remove relays one by one to see at which relay your issue stops.
 
You can just chase the black lead from the battery to where it connects to the frame. You are correct, the wire to the starter's post is positive, the starter case is grounded so current flows from the battery thru the starter to ground. If the ground point on the frame is dodgy, you'll have all kinds of weird problems.

I've been looking at that thing for months. I should of mentioned that my bad. It's not helped at all lol.
